Made of real shell not composite/reconstituted material. Stacked & bonded into a carefully orientated & colour matched mosaic sheet. Partly due to the fact that the production quality of this material is so high and partly due to the increasing scarcity (and consequent escalation in price) of traditional shell, most major guitar manufacturers and repair shops have switched to Shell Laminates for their soundhole inlays & body purfling.
Currently I produce all shell laminate straight strip in 13.4 cm lengths & sell them in multiples therof.

It is not however suitable for engraving.
